Ophelia

Although Waterhouse had a year to prefect his painting I only had three days. His Ophelia was painted from 1851-1852 mine 4/6/10-4/8/10
I fixed the dates. I told you I couldn't see anymore! This was the fastest painting I ever painted.

My eyes are tired and my feet are sore. I don’t know why but I prefer to paint standing.
I love his painting and wish I could capture its full beauty, and perhaps I could have with a little more time.
I chose the scripture,
To give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning,
the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
that they might be called trees of
                Righteousness

It just seemed to flow with the painting. I know Ophelia’s sorrow was insanity and self inflicted but so is our a lot of the time. I’m donating this to the school auction. It will sell tonight!
